James Kevin Benjamin, M.D.

Dr. Benjamin graduated Magna Cum Laude from Mount St. Mary’s College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 1983. He obtained his medical degree in 1990 from Eastern Virginia Medical School and then performed his residency in internal medicine at York Hospital in York, Pennsylvania until 1991. From there he practiced diagnostic radiology at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania until 1995. During 1995, Dr. Benjamin obtained his certification from the American Board of Radiology and moved to Cumberland, Maryland to work in diagnostic radiology at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center, Meyersdale Medical Center in Meyersdale, Pennsylvania and Garrett County Memorial Hospital in Oakland, Maryland. With the merger of two Cumberland Hospitals in 1999, Memorial Hospital and Medical Center along with the former Sacred Heart Hospital became part of the Western Maryland Health System. Dr. Benjamin continues to work on both campuses of the WMHS. In 2004, Allegany Imaging began serving Preston Memorial Hospital in Kingwood, West Virginia and the Oakland MRI Center in Oakland, Maryland. Dr. Benjamin is a member of the following organizations: American College of Radiology, American Roentgen Ray Society, American Medical Association, Medical and Chirugical Faculty of Maryland, and Allegany County Medical Society.
